Is there much bacteria on bathroom mirrors?
Ok, so my female flatmate hit the roof when she discovered I used her facecloth to wipe the steam of the bathroom mirror after having a shower. (It does get cleaned weekly.) She commented that it was disgusting because she would be wiping the bacteria from the bathroom mirror onto her face. So my question is... Is this really that bad? Is she likely to get sick from it or is she making a mountain out of a molehill?

Nothing will probably come of it, but there's probably some stuff on the mirror that no one wants on their face.

Kind of like how "they" say not to keep your toothbrush out in the open in the bathroom because when you flush the toilet some tiny little bits of water and whatnot are airborne?

Idk, sounds kind of silly to me. =P

She'll be fine.
Yes there is a lot of bacteria on the surfaces of a bathroom & more if you flush the toilet with the lid open. Depending on the proximity of the toilet to the sink there have been studies done that found that people who flush the toilet with the lid up have found fecal matter residue on their toothbrushes & taps, so it would only stand to reason that it would be on the mirror as well. Maybe you should remember to take a piece of paper towel in with you when you have your showers or don't use such hot water. Do you have a fan in the broom? That will help reduce the moisture & help in preventing mold from growing as well.

1. Yes there wil be a lot of bacteria on the mirror.
2. Yes she's making a mountain out of a molehill,
they deposited from the air you breath in there.
Conclusion:
Humor her. Women are allways right in such situations
and facts and logic have nothing to do with it.
The bacteria around your bathroom are most likely going to be the same bacteria thats in and around you and her...so no big deal.
